I am a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist with over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. I hold a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Montana State University and a Master of Science in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. I am board certified in psychiatric and mental health nursing by the American Nurses Association.
I have broad experience in inpatient and out patient mental health settings. I work with individuals, couples and families and focus on issues related to depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, chronic health issues and pain.
I have long been fascinated by the subject of resilience and seek to foster resilience in myself and in others through my work. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Neurofeedback. I am very excited about new and expanding research providing insight into the human brain and how it relates to our humanness, as well as how to nurture meaningful and sustainable change.
I am also trained as a biodynamic cranial sacral therapist. I love the interface of cranial sacral therapy with the work I have done for many years. Cranial sacral therapy is a therapeutic system that can calm the nervous system and contribute to an overall sense of well being that is very healing. I am pleased to add this skill to my work.
